Pak-Turk International Era Educational Foundation was presented the President’s Public Spirit Award, originally the ‘Sitar-i Esar’ award, for its aid efforts after the October 8 earthquake in Pakistan.Pakistani President Pervez Muserref will present the award to Fesih Celik, administrative head of the foundation, at an official ceremony on Friday, June 30 at the Presidential Palace. Pak-Turk International Educational Foundation has been active in Pakistan for 11 years operating 14 schools in six cities, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Kuetta, Mutlan and Hairpur.Three thousand students attend the schools, with a teaching staff of 250, 100 of whom are commissioned from Turkey.
Pak-Turk International also supports a humanitarian aid team, whose doctors and teachers reached the earthquake region faster than the state-run team of humanitarian representatives.
